Chekijo, elevated to height of 6257 meters above the sea level, is popularly admired for its easy ascent since the trail follows very do-able geographical settings. Department of Tourism Nepal Mountaineering Association has classified this peak as group “A” climbing peak and has made it open for climbing since 2002. The tempting natural spread of Khumbu valley and the majesty of Rolwaling Range conceal Mount Chekijo peak making it the richly treasured climbing peak. The peak was officially submitted first by Bruce Normand (U.K) and Oliver Von Rotz (Switzerland) in 2005.
The popular route to this climbing follows Charikot – Simigaon – Beding – Chekijo base camp itinerary. Chekijo Mountain is located in a wild area between Khumbu and Rolwaling valley. Day 04: Trek from Singati Bazaar to Jagat (1150m).
Day 05: Trek from Jagat to Simigaoun (1990m).
Day 06: Trek from Simigaun to Gyalche (2990m).
Day 07: Trek from Gyalche to Beding (3690m).
Day 08: Rest day at Beding for Acclimatization.
Day 09: Trek from Beding to Chekigo base camp.
Day 17: Climbing period of Chekigo peak.
Day 18: Trek from Chekigo Base Camp to Beding.
Day 19: Trek from Beding to Simigaon.
Day 20: Trek from Simigaon to Jagat.
