Api nampa conservation area is in far-western Nepal with an area of 1903 sq km. This protected area is the home for blue sheep, snow leopards, impeyan pheasant and varieties of butterflies and insects. Conservation area got its name from the mount Api 7132 m and mount Nampa 6757 m. mount Api himal is the highest peak of far western region of Nepal. Unique biodiversity, cultural heritage are the highlighted feature of Api nampa conservation areas. Conservation area is located in remote areas bordering 21 village development committees Byas, Rapla, Ghusa, Khandeswori, Sunsera, Aairkot, Shitola, Guljar, Hikila, Dhaulakot, Piperchauri, Huti, Tapoban, Brahmadev, Dhari, Chapari, Katai, Simti, Sheri and Latinath in Darchula district. Main occupation of inhabitant in this area and the nearby villages is agriculture.

Api nampa conservation area is an youngest protected areas of Nepal.
